My art captures a moment. Expressed through landscapes or close detail, color and form are discovered to reveal the composition. Figures may interact within the environment before moving on, or forms may stand alone leaving the viewer to interpret and appreciate on his own. I work often in pastel and paint…but also with pencils, woodcuts, and whatever medium seems most appropriate to the piece. My art expresses an appreciation for the natural beauty that has always been a part of my life. I grew up among gardens and woodlands…and the landscapes…they just became a part of me. I’m always amazed that a tiny seed planted into the ground becomes something.

..this is how I draw. To me, it's hyper-real outta scribble..like I said, real life. So far, beyond the Island one, this is my favorite.
Jenny's Island is the other one, so far, that I like.
